Dr Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, visited Hong Kong and met Chief Executive John Lee to discuss deepening trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges, highlighting Hong Kong's role as an international financial, shipping and trading centre. The Chief Executive thanked ASEAN for supporting Hong Kong's accession to RCEP.
The visit aimed to strengthen ties between Hong Kong and ASEAN and promote cooperation under free trade and investment agreements, including updating rules of origin to facilitate trade flows.
